Yes, sadly, MotoGP rider, Marco Simoncelli was killed yesterday, at the Malaysian Grand Prix. Only one and a half laps in, the Italian lost control ans slid right into fellow Italian, Valentino Rossi and American, Colin Edwards. Marco sustained fatal wounds to the head and chest while Rossi, albeit shaken, returned to the track, and Edwards was diagnosed with a dislocated shoulder. Simoncelli lay motionless, and helmetless on the track as the race was red-flagged. He was given CPR on the track, and transported to the medical center where he eventually died due to his injuries. Marco will be greatly missed, and my thoughts and prayers go out to his family, and those that worked with him in the paddocks.
